14The men of Israel sampled their provisions but did not inquire of the LORD.
There is a big difference between Old Testament believers and New Testament believers. We have the Holy Spirit dwelling with us continually. We don’t need to turn aside and go to the priests and ask them to ask the Lord for an answer. We simply quiet ourselves and listen to the Holy Spirit’s leading and guiding. He is always present and always ready to lead and guide. These leaders made a big mistake and they paid dearly for it. They were caught by the deception. When the people found out, they were mad at their leaders. My suggestion to every believer is before making any decision of importance that you slow down enough to listen to the Spirit’s leading.
