Beyond the Grave

Proverbs 15:11
One of the greatest mysteries, one which science will never be able to unravel, is the character of life after death. We might be able to restart a heart with a defibrillator, but we can’t send a camera beyond physical death to do exploration. And besides that, even if science could send a camera, science would prejudice the findings. It doesn’t support the ideas of heaven and hell, judgment and reward. These are not something science is supposed to make judgments about.
But physical death doesn’t stop the LORD from knowing. Since He invented both, and is in charge of both, He knows them intimately. They carry no mystery to his mind and heart. He is able to probe them. In fact, there is no need for Him to probe since there is no barrier that can stop Him.
Our proverb states that since the LORD is able to see clearly what death and destruction are all about, He knows the human heart. He is able to see into us, know our thoughts and intentions, and make judgments about who we are. And remarkably, even though he knows us, He still loves us and wants us to draw close to Him.
This kind of knowledge can be very scary to lots of people. We all keep part of ourselves under wraps, not willing to show everything. But the LORD sees it all.
But we have nothing to fear. He knows our hearts.
